Those who have ordered from Rons Machining Svc
Got my gears and install parts in for the swap on my 07, the tag on the box says for 8.5 Impala & Caprice. All of the 8.5/8.6 parts on their site fall in the same section. I told the guy on the phone exactly the vehicle they were for. Something in the back of my head from many years ago says they are fine and to go ahead. Just not sure and can't remember lol.
Can anyone confirm and save me a phone call in the morning?

Your fine, my gears came from RMS as well and in the box the label says "GM85456"
8.5 ring gear 4:56 ratio
The caprice/impala/GN and some others use the "corporate 10 bolt". You should be good as the rear is an "8.5" it is our carriers that a bit different as well. Like you can use an 8.6 diff in an older 8.5 housing with the proper bearings. They also label center sections as 8.5/8.6
