im lookin to buy a 4l80e that was just rebuilt . it is a 4x4!!!!!!...

i didnt get a chance to ask the guy what year it came out of....

but is there any difference in the years?

if it wasnt behind a LS motor you cant use it

ima just get a 2wd tranny and swap output shafts. 4x4 4l80e's are fn rare i guess

thats what ive read up on . oh well i got a 06 2wd 4l80e. a transfer case and a 4wd shaft.

700 for the trans,flexplate,converter
100 for the 4x4 output shaft
120 HD2 shift kit
250 for labor
300 for transfer case

1,470 for a 4l80e 4x4!

i know that there were 4l80e and 4l85e trannys.
what years can be easily modified to be used behind our LS motors?

anything 98 and later ls1 can easily be modified behind LS motors, plus they're stronger than early models. Early models also have different pumps which require more work and money to make them work
