Interesting.........When I was looking at the ordering guide that someone posted it looked like you could only get 3.42's. When you search car-part dot com not much shows up for 4.10s. You get a whole page(some of them are not actually 9.5s) if you select the 3.42 option.

Does the track bar have a jog in it to clear the rear cover? The 8.6 track bar is straight and only clears the cover by just over 1/2".

I'll go look at one during my lunch. All of the 6.2L's I believe use this differential also and they are 3.42 gear due to the 6 speed auto. The Suburban and Av's were still 70E's initially.

They are out there,Just tough to find!

Gotchs and I have both done this swap. Both with different results.

However It does bolt directly in with only minor mods nesc. BUT!!!!! it is actually @ 1 1/2" wider pushing ea. wheel out @ 3/4".

There is a thread on it.

If you choose to do as Colby "goatchs" it will bolt right up,and the only mod will be modifiying the e- brake tabs to fit your exsisting e-brake cables.

other than the usual stuff i.e. gears, yokes and d/shaft.

Remember it will be @ 3/4" wider each side. All the mounts are identical its just from the outer most mount plate to the hub face is longer.

If you have flares you prob. won't even notice.

I believe the thread is 9.5 14 bolt swap something. Sorry.

I believe it was slightly narrower flange to flange. Say 3/8" per side.

This is the same setup: http://www.chevyavalanchefanclub.com...102713.75.html

Recipe for a 14 bolt 9.5 S-floater 5 link the 'Supersub Way"

1. 2008-2009 NNBS Escalade Hybrid Rear Axle RPO "AXN"
2.1989-1997 OBS W/T 6-lug 14 Bolt 9.5 Core axle housing.
3.Yukon High Alloy A/M Custom Axles. 1 per side.
4.Detroit Tru-trac.
5.Larger dia Outer wheel bearings from 1989-97 OBS Axle.
6.Gears of chioce
7.Overhaul Kit bearings,shims,gaskets, and races.

tools required:
Torch,Welder,chop saw,blasting cabnet,assorted grinder's,torque wrenches,Axle narrowing tools,and a full compliment of hand tools.

Always wear gloves and safety glasses.

First disassemble NNBS axle down to housing. Cut required lenght off ends of tubes, throw flanges and bearing journals away! ( too dam small) Disassemble core axle, cut off axle flanges and Larger bearing journals w/proper amount of tube.
Blast cabnet the flanges expossing weld's
Grind welds on OBS axle flanges releasing the flanges from the brearing journal. Slide flanges to proper measurment for proper backspacing of disc brakes. Pay close attention to the clocking of the flanges in relation to axle tubes,Insuring proper fitment of brake calipers. Re weld flanges, trim and V-out tubes for proper weld surface. Install axle narrowing kit. Once placement is correct weld the tubes.
Install bearings, brake backing plates, ring and pinion, diff, bearings gaskets fluids and install in vehicle.

Modify E-brake tabs for original e-brake cables to work.

Sorry did not take any pic's this project as it was by far THE MOST Stressfull Mod Of them all.

Several weeks, dollars and frustrations ended in a Very Nice custom fit, Very strong (I Hope), Very expesive 14-bolt rear axle conversion.

Hope this helps.
