Default tap shift delay?

Well, anyone who owns or has been in a 6l80 truck will know of this, but is there anyway around it? Not sure what makes the truck act like that, you tap and it shifts one second and a half later

i thought it was some sort of electrical delay, but I guess it has something to do with the transmission building line pressure before it shifts? can someone confirm what the hell is happening here and maybe some suggestions?

Whats the corvette servo do??

It runs on a can bus and even my camaro is the same way. I think it is more electronic. There is the option in efilive to setup a wired switch which may make it much more responsive. I haven't played with that though.

yeah the camaros do it as well but to a lesser extent of course, defeats the entire purpose of having a paddle shifter, I dont know what was GM thinking when they did this.

So this is an option only through EFILive? Any other ways to make it work like it should?

Thanks

There is no bands in these units therefore there is no servo being used.

Sorry that was not my intention. I see all the time where guys ask to put a vet servo in their trans thinking its a mod for all units. Just so you know a vet servo is used in the 4l60 series units for second gear band apply. BTW its not a stupid question if you don't know the answer. I wish I had some more info on your issue with the tap shift issue but I don't. I would look into some of the tuning forums to see if anyone has a fix for you. Vince

Thanks alot Vince, I know you didnt mean for it to sound like that

Now this tap shift delay thing affects all denalis, escalades, trucks basically anything with a 6l80 or a 6l90 in it which sucks.

I press the upshift button in 1st gear BEFORE i hit the pedal to make sure it shifts before it hits the limiter too much power and a very short 1st gear (4.11 ratio) but is pretty quick
