t56 hard to get into 1st gear
#14
Lets review.
I dont think its the slave as the cylinder is not low and has never been low. However, there seems to be some dirt in the bottom of the master cylinder when you run your finger around the bottom of the reservior.
It does have a torn tranny mount, I would like to switch to a poly one as they seem to be tougher. Can a bad mount lead to this?
Its kind of strange, when downshifting, everything is fine, but you cant get it 1st without coming to a complete stop with the brake and then it goes in ok. If you backup, you have to come to a complete stop with the brake and then it will go into gear correctly. This problem does not occur all the time.
This does not occur on any other gear for the most part. Rarely, will it be difficult to get into third.
If you try and speed shift into 4th it will grind a little sometimes, but not always.
Overall, I would say it is hit and miss, getting it into 1st gear. When its cold it can be more difficult.
