Default t56 hard to get into 1st gear

Have a 99 silverado with a 6.0 and t56 with 4.56 gears.

Been having some issues with getting the B and M ripper shifter into gear. It seems sometime, when standing still the shifter will not go into 1st or 2nd gear. I work the shifter and sometimes a pop with occur when working the shifter and it goes into 1st with a grind. Sometimes it will work into 2nd and then it goes into 1st. Im unaware at what is causing this difficulty. I have replaced the stock tranny mount sometimes as it rips. Im not sure if this is the problem or not. Anyone have suggestions?

The truck is not abused outside the normal blast out of light with tire barking between gears, it uses a Corvette clutch and matching componets.

I got the t56 out of wreched GTO. It was not rebuilt, but the car only had like 20,000 miles on it.

Yeah, sounds like the synchro's are shot. Best to get it rebuild before it ruins the gears.

Try bleeding master to see if it helps. Free rev the engine with the clutch engaged on level ground and trans in gear,if the truck moves your clutch isnt completely disengaging.

I bleed the brakes a while back when I had to do some work to them, but I will do a double check.

I performed the test and the clutch is working properly.

Bleed the clutch master cylinder, not the brake master cylinder.

Yep, feel around where the line goes into the bell housing. Google a clutch slave cylinder for a 99-02 camaro soo you will see what your looking for. I used a mity-vac to bleed mine through the resivour.

Ok, thanks!

I have something similiar to the mity vac. I have used it to bleed brakes before.

How did you use that on the reservoir? Did you disconnect at the bottom of the master?
