The issue is getting the trans up to temp when its freezing out. The one complaint we always hear right about the time the temps really start dropping is that TCC does not work for a while in the mornings or when the vehicle has cooled off. The radiator cooler is there to get the trans temps up to normal operating temps as quick as possible. The issue we face up here is we get both the hot and the cold for a few months each year. I get that and understand your concern. IMO if you have issues with the trans getting to hot in the summer, you will have to get a fan for your cooler. My opinion is that we want to see our trans temps between 140-180* with normal driving. You do what you have to do to maintain this and your trans will be cooler properly. Vince

Keeping the rad in the fluid loop increases the cooling potential in situations that heat builds quickly, such as towing heavy up a grade of stalling hard on the line.
A chunk of metal heated to cherry red cools quickewr when quenched in a fluid bath, than it does if placed in front of a fan.
I think that people take the "the cooler the trans, the longer it lasts" analogy too far sometimes.

I only got to take a short tame ride the other night. First impressions is this thing is bad ***! I really like the way the 80e shifts and the converter.
I hope to get some miles on it today before this hurricane hits this weekend.I'll post up later if I get to really run it today.
Thanks again FLT- Andy & Chuck and Circle D- Chris!

I just got to run it today.Their is no way to compare the 60 and 80. Also it's gear ratios are a lot better for my set-up.
The 80 is fing awesome!

Ok good to hear. Now being that your using a stock stall converter and the procharger for boost how is that first gear issue? I had no use for my 65's first gear all it ever wanted to do is spin them. What happens when you go wot from a stop with your set up?
