Default surging with a new stall?

ok i have done a search and havent found to much. so my question is i just put a pi vig 2400 stall in my truck and for the first few days everything was good. then about a week later i had a surging around 40-55mph like the converter was locking and unlocking. the surging could have been there the first few days and i didnt really notice it. does this seem normal with a stall? by the way everything else in the tranny is stock, and its an 04 rcsb 5.3, 3.73
thanks
