sun shell gone do i replace sun gear too
I have my 4l60e down, the teeth in the sun shell are sheared off.
I'm getting a Sonnex smart shell to replace it, should I also replace the sun gear?
the sun gear does not look bad. there is some galling on the snap ring which I will replace.

Look closely at the top of the splines where its fitted into the shell. I have seen where these do wear when the shell strips out. Sungears are cheap so it would be a good idea to replace it. Also might I suggest using a wide sungear bushing from sonnax. I use them in all my builds! http://www.sonnax.com/product-lines/...ion/parts/1636
