stock rear end swaps, worth it?
#1
hey guys, i have a chance to pick up the rear end out of a wrecked z71, i was told its the 4.10 rear end, w stock lsd.
would it be worth it, to swap my stock 3.42 one tire fire, for a factory z71 rear end? i have had differed opinions at my work, some say it cant be done, some say it can, others say the 4.10 ratio is to low of a gear for the 5.3. any opinions would be greatly appreciated
i figured it would be easier to just drop the entire rear axle, and replace it with the z71 rear, what complications would yall see?
he also wants to hook me up with a trailblazer stall, so i figured if i could get the trailblazer tc, the 4.10 rear end, and a cam to match the stall, the truck might launch of the line pretty well, what do yall think?
thanks guys

The 4.10s would be a good option, but the stock lsd should be ditched for an eaton or similar. I know there are a good many running the tb stall with good results. Can't help with the cam though.
