Default stock 80e TC question

Is there a big difference in weight between a stock 80e TC and an aftermarket? I've heard there was, just wondering is anyone has some actual numbers. I know mine was heavy, lol.

That, and I keep eyeballing the YANK truck thruster 2600 but wondering is it's worth the money over just getting a stock "high stall" one from a 4.8.

They are almost half the weight!!

my stock 80E TC will brake stall to 2600, with the turbo on 6# it would brake stall 3000.
But just silly heavy.
cant wait to get the Circle D..

Thanks, so your saying it's worth spending the money for an aftermarket?

I can only stall mine off the brake till 2000

Definately a HUGE improvement to go aftermarket. You won't be disappointed.

Besides the weight and stall speed advantages, you'll have much improved shift extensions, and higher efficiency on the top end(if you buy a good one, not a cheap restalled stocker).

Yea, they are way more effecient!!
Prolly see .5sec or better drop in your 1/4 mile times if you can get it to hook.

I probably sounded like an idiot asking that lol. I was just saying in terms of comparing say the higher stall speed stocker to the advantages of an aftermarket.

Sound like exactly what I am looking for. How are the manners of an aftermarket. I know in the stock tune my stocker kicks in and out of lock-up, will it be the same?

Awesome, I guess I need to start saving then.

Does Circle D make one where I can still retain full towing ablities? Any other decent recommendations? I still use a trailer often to haul cars, and once I get my 79 Camaro rolling it'll be getting hauled to the track as well
