Default Steering is hard right, but not left?

The steering is as smooth as it's always been to the left, but to the right it jerks and fights me turning right. The pump is less than 6 months old from doing the hydroboost conversion. Is it in the steering gear box?

Yes, that's a failing steering box. My 02 Tahoe did it too. I replaced it with the Cadillac p/n for the same year.
