Yank and circle D both have some inexpensive torque converters,I hate to say this but if you think torque converters are too expensive then you are in the wrong hobby.

How big of a cam are you gonna go with? I would recommend a Circle D 3200. You need to make sure and get a cooler if you dont already have one.

Haha, so true. I spent 1200 on my converter. and that was one of the cheaper mods.

Lotta truth to this one. I had planned on a budget build... but one thing leads to another.

And another and another, when I started all I wanted was spend a couple hundred on a cam now I have a couple thousands worth of parts in my closet.

just get a circle D 278mm. I got mine a couple years ago I think for $375 Shipped with a promo code at the time *278mm* not sure if it still works. it was the 3-3200 and dropped 5 tenths off my 1/8th mile time in my SS. Is it the Best converter? probably not, but it does a damn good job for the price.
