Default Stainless Steel Braided Hose for Transmission Lines?

I know I read here that someone had replaced their transmission cooler lines with stainless steel braided hose. I would like to know what I will need to do this to my truck. What length and size hose? What fittings will I need? Any help would be appreciated.

Not that turbojohn needs defending, but I'm compelled to comment.

Expensive? Perhaps to you. Cost doesn't matter when trickin your ride.

Pointless? Not to me!

Why? Because I installed a tranny cooler and like the braided line look.

Why did I? Fit, Form & Function.

IMD, if I may comment on your post, it's pointless and I dont know why it it's your concern on why we do it! Do you have a positive comment on the question? Have a good day!

Turbo, there are various adaptor fittings available to run the line. On my 99 Dakota, I'm using -6an line because I recently intalled a tranny cooler. Total cost was about $50/$75 after all was said and done. May I suggest you carefully plan or you'll have a stockpile of fittings and hose laying around. Good luck with the install.

Thought one should add that the total cost to replace ALL trans lines with stock lines cost ~$75 (think braided would be ~25% less, total). So, there's no cost difference b/t stock and braided lines. If I had known this prior to doing my swap, I'd have gone to braided lines instead of stock ones... for the custom look, and ease of routing in any vehicle. I realize that IMD may have been pointing out on one side, why spend the money... too expensive. It's not really THAT expensive to do (if you have the means to support it).

Great choice!
