Default staggering tire size

just wondering if putting some taller tires on the back will eff up something on the transfer case or something else. reason im asking is cause my yukon doesn't get the greatest mileage with the 4.10's. Im thinking putting a bit taller tire on the rear like a 265 75 over the stock 245 75 might help a little. im needing new tires so thought i would ask

Yes, if you have an AWD/4WD you must have the same tire diameter front and rear.

a 265 is a wider tire. the 75 is the sidewall size.

The op was right though a 265/75 is taller than a 245/75. sidewall measurement is a percentage of tread width

Correct, that's why it's called an "aspect ratio"

thanks for the input. im thinking about getting the 265/75's over the stock 245/75's. it doesn't sound like much but there an inch and a half taller. as i said i need new rubber anyways, and i love the power with the 4.10's but i don't love the mileage

make sure you get the 265/75's like said above the second number is the height. they also make a 265/70 and its about the same height as the 245/75

thats what im thinkin of doing because the 265/75's are a bit taller, not much so i don't know how much it will drop the rpm. its running around 2200 rpm going 65mph with bald *** 245/75's right now.
