squeaky shackles

Default squeaky shackles

how can i get them to shut up? i have sprayed wd40 and no help they make alot of noise. any help. thanks.

mine do too. i loosened them up a little bit and it helped some.

wd40 usually makes it squeak worse imo, pull them apart and use some really thick grease.

My truck came new from the dealership with two inch shackles that squeaked like crazy, I took it back to them. They took the bolt out and greased heavily, solved the problem.

I have had two silverado's with the problem and it's not the shackles it's the plastic isolators in between the leaf springs trust me it took me a while to figure it out. All you have to do is jack the truck off the rear suspension and spray some quality lubricant on the plastic isolators and also just a tip if you lowered the rear your not supposed to tighten the leaf springs bolts until the weight is setting on them with the truck on the ground!
