Default Springs or Spindles for my 2/4 drop?

I'm wanting to do a 2/4 drop within a few months and I'm curious if the spindle kits are worth the extra 100 bux? That extra 100 would go towards a HSW plate kit soon after the drop. I can live with a bit bumpier ride than stock, I used to drive a 2500 8" lift on 37's and was fine with it. Anyone have some experience with the springs vs. the spindles? I'd honestly much rather spend the 100 dollar difference on the nitrous.

Also, the rear will get helper bags in the winter when Zach moves back home. I do tow a little bit, and it sags enough with just the 2" shackles in the back.

Thanks for the info

Jake

Jake...

I'd do a level drop first to see how you like it, so you can still tow with a little piece of mind. Did you see my level drop from last year, and it was on 17's. I loved the way it handled.

I put 3 inch springs in mine. It can be a little rough at times but I have different shocks also. I'm happy with them for the money I saved.

If you go 4 inches in the rear you may want a c-notch. When I get about 500-700 lbs in mine the axle is on the bump stops.

Right now I have the 2" drop shackles in the back and I like it, but I want to drop it a little more. I won't be doing any performance mods to the truck other than nitrous in the long haul. The plans are to save for a fbody and do a complete build up or get a classic truck.

That's why I'm going to do helper bags in the back to prevent the truck from sagging. I can't find Zach's profile, but he's got an '06 crew cab he dropped 2/5 with helper bags. His doesn't sag at all while towing.

i would go spindles, it wont affect you suspensions geometry up front but springs will, with spindles the front should ride no different than stock just 2" less clearance

oh what size rims do you have, because stock 17"s wont clear spindles even though the conpanies say they will, not a hard fix though

I've got the stock 17's, and don't plan on changing them for a while honestly

i would go with the spindles, its really worth the extra money, the ride is nice, keep the stock shocks and everything and just do the spindles, before i went to the 20's all i had to do was grind off part of bolt at the bottom of the spindle, which is recommended anyways so nobody hits ur rim on it while rotating ur tires/etc.
