I'm planning on swapping in a NP149 transfercase. I figured while it was sill out I should upgrade the oil slinger. I don't know much about this, but have head that it can eventually wear through the housing causing an oil leak.

I searched around and found several threads where folks had upgraded to Chevy's newer version.

Then I found this:

The only place I can find it for sale online is eBay. Since that's the only place, I'm wondering if it's a good price or not.

Is the Sonnax upgrade worth it? Or should I stick to GM parts?

Does anyone know of a place online where I can order up the part?

I thought the deal with the Sonnax is that it relocates the wear pattern and elimated the metal on metal rub through issue.

I found this:

 

GM designed a new clip to address this specific issue, but im not sure how much it costs. The metal ring I posted prevents the pump from rubbing on the case. Im sure the sonnax part works fine, but if something 1/3 the cost works just as well...
