Default Slip Yoke for 4L80E? 2001 2WD ECSB

Been researching the 80E swap and am getting confused about the slip yoke. I understand I need a new one, but which one? Is there a direct-fit? I've read of people having to cut down the slip yoke anywhere from 0.5-2". Is there one that requires no cutting?

Is there a particular brand that I don't have to worry about breaking? I've read about some of the eBay yokes breaking.

And lastly, how do I swap the slip yoke onto the stock driveshaft? Any special tools required?

This is an 2001 2WD extended cab with the stock 2-piece driveshaft.

Ebay is where I got mine. Cut it down 5/8ths of an inch. I took it to a machine shop $25

Could you PM me the link?

How difficult is it to install the slip yoke onto the driveshaft?

I got mine from Denny's, long barrel t-400 with a 3R ujoint. I'll probably take mine to a shop because I don't have a press.

You will have to trim 5/8" off the slip yoke

Is this the one: Chevy and GM 3R Series Transmission Slip yoke for TH400 with long tailshaft housing

Is a press required to install the slip yoke onto the driveshaft? I've been looking for a how-to but haven't been able to find one.

And would there be any advantage to getting something like a 1330 slip yoke and then a 1330/3R combination u-joint?

If you have never installed a Ujoint, then take it somewhere. Much less headache.

Ive done a few ujoints in the past but this last time i couldnt get the cups to budge in the yokes with a Arbor press. Took it to the powertrain place and $50 i had 3 new ujoints and they installed them.

The 4wd trucks use the yoke that will fit the 80E. My buddys 1998 truck was a 4wd. Took the yoke off and put it on a 2wd DS and it fit perfect.

Me and buddies use a ball joint press to remove and install u joints...works like a charm and I think you can rent them from the parts store.
