Default Silverado SS AWD to 2WD

Just remove the drive shaft from the transfer case to the front differential.

Wait, that sounds too easy. I'm sure there's something else involved.

I'm not sure what kind of center diff is in the SS, but on some vehicles, pulling the driveshaft is a big no-no. You would burn out the viscous units in many imports, and to do 2WD, we generally had to weld the center diff.

Its possible if you you removed the front drive shaft you wouldnt be 100% power to the rear some allwheel drives send power like 60 to the rear and 40 to the front if I remember right thats how it was on a buddies gmc syclone

Default Didn't spec the year...

On the late, late model ones if you disconnect the front shaft it causes havoc w/ torque transfer on the front to rear biasing and sets the abs light on and the check engine light. Damn computers.....
