Where can you buy long bars for a 02 Silverado reg cab?

Coming from the Ford scene I always had JLP long bars on my trucks which I absolutely loved. Bolt on and hook, no adjustments needed. I have Caltracs on my truck now and am not a fan of them at all. I've seen all the other short bar kits - VAS, Assassin, etc, and have searched pretty hard and heavy but can't come up with nothing but Duramax stuff. How come no one runs them or even makes them for us?

i believe there are some guys running long bars here...but i believe they fabricated them

i havent really seen anyone have great success with long bars on a silverado. the work great for the lightnings though!

 

Unless its a lifted silverado....

 

Interesting. Why hasn't anyone had success with them? I can't find a single thread where anyone has even tried them.... Other than the homemade traction bar thread where I guy was using a tractor top link

And what is everyone else using besides Caltracs?

Get ahold of VAS on facebook. If anyone can make you some long bars, he will.

Personally, I never liked the geometry of them. A leaf spring gets longer and the axle moves back as you compress it. With the front of the bar fixed to the frame and the rear of the bar fixed to the axle, seems to me as if the axle would be getting twisted pinion up or put in a bind as the rear suspension is compressed. Just my thoughts on the subject.

 

Theoretically the long bar is supposed to keep the axle from rotating upwards, and prevent the spring from curving and snapping back, or getting longer. If they are the right kength at the right angke they dont bind but so much...
