I currently have a shock goin bad.You can bounce the right rear end fairly easy and just a couple weeks ago it was firm as could be.
It also makes loud noise.Kinda squikie(sp) and at extremes almost a grind sound from it.It's basically gone and in a bad way.

I was wondering if i should get the Eldebrock IAS drop shocks as i have a 1/4 drop on my truck.
Or get some Dosctech shocks.
If anyone has had ethier could you tell me how they ride.
Are they firm?Soft? how do they handle small bumps in succesion and large ones as well.
Do they feel floaty or smooth?
Do they bounce alot over dips and such?
Please no stories on how the shock sucks cause you had problems with one that went bad.Every company can have a shock that fails.
Just wanna know how each one performs and what to expect.

 

well i have the edelbrocks on my z, i dont know how good of a comparison this would be but the truck still rides rough (regular cab, ford keys,) but it does handle much better and its a stiff ride like a lowered car or something, its not spongy anymore and when i go around curves and hit bumps it doesnt feel like the rearend wants to come around like it did before. If i had it to do over again i would have gotten some cheaper ones. Hope this helps.

 

I have the Belltesh Nitro Actives on the rear and the stock Bilsteins up front. Got to change the front soon.
I love how the rear feels now.Tight but responsive. I can go over RR tracks at 10mph and not feel beat to death.
Small road wash still jiggles but larger bumps are smoother.
The Edelbroch IAS have a decent rep too.

 

You have the IAS shocks? With my truck lowered i tend to bottom out a bit on fairly large bumps.I would like a bit stiffer shock in the rear to help with this some.Plus i want a shock to elp with cornering.I already ride rough as hell so it can't be much worse than the blown ones i have now.

How do they corner?Tight? I'm not set in stone on ethier of the two i listed just the ones i ahve heard alot about.
Right now my backs are ground force drop shocks.They were fairly stiff but didn't last very long at all.

 

Truck handles better than ever but I have to reshock the front still. I think I'm going with a set of KYB's for the front for tight response.

J's01Silverado runs them in all 4 points. They have the rep of a little stiffer ride, good for handling the heavy front end of my truck.
