Default shocks???????????????????

I just lowered my 04 Silverado 3" front Belltech springs, and 4" rear shackle/hanger, I still have my factory shocks. The rear is hitting the bumpstops on big bumps and dips in the road. Will Belltech shocks improve this? and which one should I go with Street Performance or Nitro Drop 2?

Street Performance, hands down. You also might want the Belltech urethane stops.

Heard many good things about the street performance shocks. Shocks alone will not necessarily stop it from bottoming out, may need to be notched if you are bottoming out a lot.

is it common for a 4 " rear drop to need a notch? I have 2 before that did not have a notch and they were fine, they were older models 1992 and 1995.

You shouldn't need a notch for a 4" drop. Get some shorter bumpstops, like the ones from Belltech that trever1t mentioned, and the street performance shocks. It may bottom out occassionally on big bumps, but will be OK for the most part.
