Default Shackles on ex-cabs.

Is there a big problem with running 2" shackles on an extend cab? I mean as far as driveline angle problems. Any more so after say a 4 wheeler gets tossed inthe back?

My last truck had 2" DJM shackles on the back, and they recommended a shim. I think the issue is with the 2 pc. carrier bearing type setup, but I haven't measured anything.

By the way, your trucking is f*ckin' sweet.

Well, I have an 06 max EXcab 2wd with 20's and there is only 1.25" difference between the front wheelwell and the ground and the back. I know that a lot of people have put the 2" shackles on these trucks, but I don't want it to look like I have a load in the back. Any suggestions and am I just overreacting?!! I like the Belltech 2" shackles. Only 44.00

you know, i woudl have said you can do it no problem without the shims but a couple weeks ago my carrier bearing broke on me and i was lucky to make it down the highway and to the mechanic without the driveshaft falling out. i have 2" leveling shackles and no shims for about 2 yrs and this was my first problem i dont know if its related or not. i did go "off-roading" that day, drove over a little curve because a gate was blocking the road to get out of school and it might have torqued the body and under stuff a little but who knows. anyways, where can i get some shimms and how hard is the install...

I have 2" DJM shackles and don't have any problems. Even loaded the bed down with bricks and didn't have any problems.

you also have a torsion bar front suspension on a Vortec Max truck, so your front end has a range of adjustment available

Had them on my 2000 EC for about a year or so before Hotchkis TVS 2/4.
I didn't experience any problems.
