Default Service 4WD? WTF

I've had the unit serviced at the dealer just before warranty ran out for this exact problem, just had the rear seal replaced 2 weeks ago, and just changed both CV joints...I still get an intermittant msg...
I cant take it anymore...I leave the keys in the ignition all the time now!

That message isn't for maintenance reminder, your truck has an electrical problem. On the '04 it is usually the t-case encoder motor sensor. You should scan for DTC's and post up, so we can tell you what should be done.

That seems to be the sentiment of anyone that surpasses 500HP. As long as nothing breaks (or for me...as long nothing keeps me from pressing the gas and making it go) let it go.

Yeah, what AKlowriderZ71 says, probably encoder motor sensor on the '04's. If you do yourself, don't be a normal for once, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS.

The earlier trucks popped that light a lot but it turned out to be the in dash switch was faulty.

Thnx guys...I'm gonna change the other CV joint as its got a little "crunch" happening and take it from there.
I'm still thinking of leaving it in the Walmart lot with the keys in it, I'm just worried someone will strip it and leave the main bits behind!
