Running a np149 on a 2wd dyno
I’ve seen threads about this and I’m still uncomfortable about it since a new vc is $800
does anyone have any longer term experience with doing it?
one idea I had was to get an old viscous coupler and weld it solid then run without a front driveshaft. I think it’s an old dsm trick.
if anyone has an burned up vc for me to try it on I’d appreciate it.
I also have a 03 push button 4x4 box I could swap in but I’d need a new driveshaft.

numbers would be very skewed on a dyno trying to do runs with no front driveshaft.... ive driven mine with a cv axle completely severed limping home and it does take a bit for the coupler to actually start "working", feels like a slipping transmission or clutch about to go out.
where in fl are you?
ive got a few of them i have hording, as even the core charge for them to get rebuilt is a couple hundred bux now

I am in mims.
I was hoping I could weld one so it acted like a spool and put 100% of the power to the rear when no front drive shaft is present.
Otherwise I need to find another transfer case and have a driveshaft made
