It will be on the track more than once as it is with shackles only out back. The ladder bars are definitely going to happen, but in due time...

has anyone been to the track before and after a drop kit to see if times changed with the same power level? I'd imagine trap speed might increase a small amount depending on how low it is.... less truck up in the air, and less air under the truck.

There's this if you can actually believe it.

I don't recall the exact numbers (been about 8 years) but I rember dropping a couple tenths and picked up a few mph when I dropped mine 2/4 with no other changes. I am still running the Hotchkis springs and have cut a best 60' of 1.57 on the current setup (normally in the mid 1.6x with a little tire spin).

The thing that sucks is the weather change, you'd have to find someone that did it for this exact reason and did it close to the same time of the year.

but the method you use to achieve that height does matter. from what ive seen, scsb's like either stock, 2" drop shackle or a flip kit. hanger shackle combos never seem to launch as good.

It doesn't matter... Stock, shackle, hanger/shackle, flip/shackle, hanger/shackle/flip...it's all great for the track. I should have said, "pick your suspension combo and dial it in for the track." I know I'm not going into details of what makes it work ie: weight transfer, CG, anti-squat, instant center, suspension rise, shocks etc etc. Way more than I have time to explain or get into, but more effects track performance than just simple suspension components.

I run a shackle/hanger and it works great at the track. I run a 9" drop out back and against what people have said in the past slammed trucks can launch. Mine was never even built for the track, it was built for street and handling I just happen to drag it cause it's fun, but i still have decent results. I only make 340hp/315tq and 60' 1.6x's...

everyone gets 1.6x...pay attention to the 1.5x guys.

it may be different with a custom ladder setup, but i couldnt dial a shackle hanger setup with cal-tracs because the operating angle of them sucked. almost as bad as the ride.

Show me some low HP/TQ guys in higher DA's were I run 2500+, that cut 1.6's on leaf springs, street shocks in the factory location, with 55lb+ wheel/tire combos, equal to or less than a 3.90 gear on a 28.....
