Default replacing diffs?

just something i'm thinking about doing next year IF i can find some cheap parts. my diffs front and back are "open," and i'd like to put limited slips in.

can i just replace them with limited slips? i have 4 wheel ABS, but no traction control, so i would think it'd be no big deal. anyone know for sure?

2002 silverado 2500HD 4x4 btw..

Adding a LSD or Locker (depending on use) to the rear is an excellent idea. Not sure about the front diff on the HD but the 1500's are too weak to take one or so my gear shop explained.
