Can I ask how you set your pinion angle before the trans is in?

Some have, and some blow up... Every truck/shaft isn't the same. He just doesn't want to chance it with a stocker, this accident probably put a hurtin on his wallet.

How many transmissions do we need to go through before we say the stock shaft won't hold up? Not worth it.

I set it -2.5* to -3* in relation to the truck being level on the shop floor with an angle meter. I leveled the pinion yoke, losened the u bolts brought it down, leveled the yoke again, and measured until it was right at -3*. so its 3* in relation to the ground. I have shimmed the tie bolt on the leaf springs so I can run a 1-2* shim to move it if I need to.

True, I am gun shy now. I wont run it till I have a good shaft, and front and rear DS loops.

Well hopefully once you put your trans in and you add weight you wont have to change the angle again. Cause if your pinion angle dont match your tranny yoke angle your going to have a vibration.

yeah, I hope it wont throw it off to much, I was told to set it at -3* in relation to the ground by some other guys that have setups like this. I will measure it all again once it is in running form. if I need to adjust it I can. I had Ray and a welder at the shop for one day, so I jumped on it. (I cant weld that good)

it helps with launches and 60 fts with caltracs. I wouldnt do it on a stock setup, cause the factory ones help with wheel hop.
