You may want to provide more information than just that, as there are other factors to consider.

What size motor?
What transmission?
What size tires?
What kind of drag racing, as in 1/8th or 1/4 mile?

What year truck is this in? Id love to find a rear diff with that ratio for standing mile racing.

Simple answer is probably yes. You state drag strip use.....neglecting in crazy radical other aspects of the build, going from a 2.xx rear gear to a 4.xx almost has to improve performance.
