Default Rear End ?'s

Someone wants to buy my rear end. I have an 01 with disk brakes.. It is just the factory 10 bolt 8.6 chevy rear end. He has an 06 with the drums. Can I just remove his brakes and install them on my rear end??

go to a junkyard and get any 99 up calipers/brackets/etc from a 10bolt disc setup. they will bolt right onto the 14 bolt. i think the only issue was having to tweak the parking brake cable. quik has done it as have a couple others i believe. i will perform this mod myself at some point.

For clarafication... He has a 10 bolt. The 06 14 bolts only came in the SS/VHO's.

I was thinking of keeping my disk brake st up for the 14 bolt I am going to buy. He is going to sell his 10 bolt with the 3.42's and one wheel peel on CL or something like that.

The plans were to remove his brakes from his 10 bolt, install on my 10 bolt. He would have a true posi and 3.73's with a TA girdle for $600 (my rear end) and still be able to sell his rear end for $400-500.

Does anyone know the RPO code for 4.10's and a 14 bolt in 05 or 06?? Is it the GT5 option?

I dont think the AWD SS's had the 14 bolt, did they?

That sucks..

Do the SSS come with a G80 or G86 found in the TBSS? In other words, so the 14 bolts come with stout LSD's?

Thanks for your help!
