Default RCSB rides like poooooooooooop!

Hey guys,

I've got a 2006 RCSB which I have lowered two inches in the rear with shackles. it rides like absolute ****!

The truck has 80k miles on it with the original shocks...we have terrible roads around here and it lived on a gravel road the first 40k miles. The shocks are wasted.

what's a good shock for a quality ride? What shocks will work for the back being dropped 2"? everything I see for lowered shocks in the rear is for a 4" drop and I don't want to go that far????

I've looked at the edlebrock IAS shocks, any input on those?

thanks in advance

-Kit

also, what about a shock drop bracket? or some sort of bracket so that the stock height shock can run at it's intended length while being lowered 2" in the rear?

I'm really just interested in getting a GOOD ride out of my truck...I like sporty and tend to lean towards stiff before soft/squishy like it is now.

I would replace the shocks and leaf springs!

Maybe even try the Belltech leaf springs!

My stock height RCSB rides like poop too. It has Monroe Reflex shocks on it now.

Anybody try the Blistein comfort ride shocks?

Did you over tighten the bolts on the shackles? That can cause it to ride rough. Try taking a 1/4 to 1/2 turn out of the bolts

^^^^^that works

you lowered the rear 2" with just shackles?
people are confused by the added length of shackles, +2" in length equals about .5 in height change

I agree and disagree. I have lowered both my trucks with 2 inch shackles and it drops the back at least 1 to 1.5 inches. I agree that it doesn't exactly lower it 2 inches.

lay a stick down on the ground and shim up one side 2 inches and it will lift the center up only one inch....

thats weird cause my truck is pretty close to stock height and i have longer shackles
i have seen people swap in 8" shackles and the height doesnt change more than an inch or so

so either people are using a shackle that gives 2" of drop or they are using a shackle thats 2" longer than the stock one and there is no way it gives that much drop
