Default random clunks

well, i just had the steering shaft lube put it for the temp fix while my steering shaft is on order. thats where most of the clunking was coming from anyway.. but now thats fixed, yet sometimes when im goin over some rough/bumpy roads i can still hear a lil clunk sometimes coming from the front end. do u guys experience random clunks coming from ur front end and is there anything thing else/ideas that might be making the noise? thx in advance

Currently I hve a clunk that would not go away. After a while of looking, I found out it'is one of the exhaust pipes that is hittig the frame where the Y pipe comes together. You might want to look underthere and if posible put on a lift.

There's a forward crossmember on our trucks that clunks that has a TSB out on it....mine's supposedly been fixed twice (or three times), now it needs it again. But there is a new TSB out as well, though I don't know what it is (hopefully someone else will chime in). Need to take the truck in again.

just rough roads or bumps... not shifting.. sometimes the clunk is on the right side, sometimes its on the left.. if that helps at all in what it could be..

Mine clunks when negotiating speed bumps or while turning at slow speeds.

def not from bottoming out suspension wise.. i take speed bumps pretty darn slow, its more of just your everyday driving around with roads that arent really smooth.. doesnt do it all the time, just random times.. ie: ill take a certain road everyday to work, some days it clunks on that road, and some days it doesnt do it at all.. no speed changes, nothing to provoke the sound..
