Not sure on your question, but for the dealer part....my dealer also says you don't need to ever change your transmission filter when you change the fluid. Most dealers are stupid.

But im pretty sure there aren't any differences among those years on the 4l60e?

Unless there is a 2wd to 4wd difference, there is NO difference in them...

ok let me clarify a little more i was highly pissed when they told me that.i blew my trans awhile back and came across this one for free.i have a 03 ecsb and they told me there were so many differences between 99-02and 03 that "i would be better off to buy a fresh goodwrench and reslove all my problems".this is the same dealer that said i had to pull the heads to put a cam in so i figured id ask up here.

the guy told me although it will bolt up,all the solenoids are different, none of the connections would interchange and it would never shift right but he had one there for 2100 that would work.said it had to be out of a 2003 as that year was a "special trans" that would not interchange with any other year

Well you probably should find a new place to take your truck.

Agreed.

If you had an 02 it would be a special year too by the sounds of things.

How come the P/N for GM replacement trans is the same for all 99-03

04 something changed apparently.
But its probably something minor, like a pan or something...or a working drain plug...yeah right.

Maybe somebody could even give you a hand. Edit your "details" in the user CP, give us at least a general area where you live.
