Default Quick rear tranny seal Q

My coworker has an 03 CCLB dually 4X4 and needs to change out the rear seal because its leaking. We are taking his truck to New Orleans tomarrow and i have to change the bitch out before we leave. Do i use a little RTV to seal it up or is that a tranny nono? And as always thanks for reading.

I swapped my tailhousing today and talked to Litreddevil. He said to put a light coat of RTV on the seal. Not much just a light coat. I actually didnt do it but I guess it would help.

Default Check the bushing

Some times you can get away with just changing the seal. If you need a bushing it is a dealer idem. Make sure to polish up the yoke as well.

Which bushing would that be? And how do you suggest polishing the yoke?

There is a bushing behind that seal to support the yoke. It might be a little worn. As far as polishing the yoke I use some fine metal type sand paper and then finish polishing with some scotch bright.
