Default Questions about durability under power

Im in the process of selling my beloved Cummins to get back into an LS based platform. I need a truck and thus im in the market for a NBS GMC or Chevy. I wanted to orignially buy a 2wd but am thinking more about a 4wd now since I live in MA and winters suck. My question is, if I get a 4wd truck and drop an LQ4 with a cam and some other bolt-ons in, how quickly will I demolish my transfer case? I know 10 bolts suck and 4L60's aren't much better. Am I asking for trouble or will I be pretty good to go

Keep the fluid clean (mine really likes the AMSOIL ATF I put in it), install a pump rub plate and make sure the driveline doesn't vibrate it to death, then you will have no problem.

The main issue is the pump rubbing against the case and wearing a hole in the magnesium. This will cause a leak, which will eventually starve and kill the pump. This is only made worse by lack of maintenance and dirty fluid.
