Default Question about value of axles

I picked up a complete running 2002 Silverado 2500HD 4x4 for an engine tranny swap I am doing. This truck has the axle codes GT5 and G80 so this is a set of 4:10 ratio with limited slip. The truck has right at 155k and was owned by a lady who wanted a truck and it was too big for her so I am not sure it was ever placed into 4x4.

What would a set of these be worth so I can put them on craigslist.

Thanks in advance

It depends on your area.

In my area a 10.5 14 bolt with 4:10's could go from $300-$500

The Front diff would bring $100-$200 or so if it sold...

I personally have not had luck selling the front diffs. They usually end up in the scrap pile.

The problem with front diffs that don't get used are moisture gets in there and causes corrosion. They usually have to be rebuilt. Not just anyone can do that as it requires a few specialised tools as well as some basic knowledge on how to assemble and disassemble them correctly.

if it was a 1500 I would buy the front diff for $150 plus shipping

as for the axles, I would bet both would go for $500.

I sold a 10b for $280 after sitting on it at $320 for 6mo. Apples to oranges because 14b AAM> 10b; but it really depends on what your market can support.

Thank you guys for the input. I will be pulling this thing apart in the next week or so and now I have an idea what they are worth.

I bought a 10 bolt (to have built, but was supposedly in perfect working order) for $200 with the disc brakes on it. You could bring a little bit more I think.
