Default Question about 4l80e swap

Well its been A couple of months since I have done the swap and have been noticing a vibration under accel between 20-25mph and now I can feel it at highway speeds. Feels more like drivetrain vibration. I installed new u joints on the driveshaft to the front yoke and also to the rearend. Couple of questions then you guys can ask or fill in the rest. How much on the crossmember was I suppose to drop for the transmission. That might be a prob due cause the transmission looks to be sittin to low. If someone could get some measurements like from the top of the crossmember to the bottom where they had to drop it and weld. Also I grabbed hold of the yoke off the transmission and I can move it around in a circle motion, like it has some play it in. I am gonna try takin the driveshaft out this weekend and see if the output shaft has play in it. Might take it over to my trans guy and have him take a look at it. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks Thomas

Check to see if the trans output shaft is in the same plane as the pinion shaft. I.E. the trans output is -2* and the pinion is -2*.

There is a bushing in the tail shaft that the slip yoke spins and slides in, sound like you might need to have it replaced.

I don't think you're supposed to drop the rear of the trans at all. Every one that I've seen done sits at the same level as the 4L60E did.

Yes , should stay at the same level. What yoke did you use? Generally at ride height you should have no more than 2" showing(shinny part of yoke) from tail shaft and thats with 3/4 or so of the output shaft extending from tailshaft housing.
You can try rotating the "U" joints 180 degrees too.
Driveline angle could do it too , should be opposite angles no more than 2 degrees..... if trans is pointing down 2 degrees then rear yoke should be level to 2 degrees up. (rear will rotate slightly upwards under power)
Hope this helps ya man.

Problem fixed. We cut and re welded to where the crossmember is at the stock height as it was with the 60e. I dont kno why I thought it was needin to be dropped but problem solved. Oh yea and I am using a turbo400 long yoke I got off ebay for a $1. Using it on a one piece steel drive shaft. Talked to transmssion guy and he did install a new bushing in the rear. Thanks guys for the help and input!!!
