step 1...take to local trans shop

step 2...pay another sucker to do it

step 3...pick up truck after work, pay $350

step 4...enjoy roasting tires from a dig

step 5...

If youve never pulled a trans before, you should just pay someone to do it...

that 4l60e is a big tranny! if you dont have the proper tools, pay another sucker like i did. you will definately need a tranny jack of some sort.....a lift and an extendable jack is best.....

but i just paid for it myself.

you can rent a transmission jack if not borrow one dont risk the tranny falling or slipping off a regular hydraulic jack, a friend of mine had is arm broke from doing it this way wasnt very pretty..

its really not a hard task to complete

You have to pull the starter to get access to the back of the flywheel one bolt at a time. Remove one, rotate engine, remove second, rotate engine, remove third.

I pulled my 4L60E with a helper and no prior experience on a trans. It sucked big time and I will be paying somebody next time. No real horror show, just took MANY MANY hours and bloody knuckles.
