Default popping noise

my trucks been making popping noises the past two days every once in awhile when i put it in reverse and the sound is coming from the back of the truck....im thinking maybe the u-joint is going bad?

i swear, its just been one thing after another the past few weeks

How many miles you have on it??? Sounds like drive line slop to me.. Mine odes it every now and then..

Just like you said. Slop in the You joints, maybe even some in the rear end...

Im thinking time for new gears.

Mine made all kinds of weird noises. I drove the **** out of it for 3yrs that way until one day....

dude.....i have no money for gears right now....i pulled my diff cover about a month ago and the gears still looked great....i hope they last till i can get a set without my truck being down for awhile....i might pull it again and look at it tomorrow....i have been doing a lot of one wheeler peeler burnouts lately before i get the new tires....

i dont think it is the gears, check your pinion angle as well, could be putting extra stress on your u-joints
