Gentlemen, do you think this is a little salty for the price?

Here is another alternative, more aggressive brake pads and upgraded fluid. I autocross/HPDE/Time trial a corvette and when I changed to dot 5.1 fluid (non silcone) and Hawk HT14 pads I could go almost 80 ft longer to brake from 140 to a 90 mph corner. On my 6000lb Escalade, I pull a 7200 lb encolsed trailer, I went with the upgraded fluid, bleed and kept light in color regularly, and Hawk HD truck pads and stop amazingly faster than the stock set up. Keeping the brake fluid clean and more agressive pads will help you stop faster than many upgrades. Have you ever measured the wear on the rotors with stock pads--almost non existant. That has got to tell you something. Downside, you wash your wheels more often because of break dust--no bling but good stopping power.

Lisa, I checked that SSBC link. To do front & rear, one is still lookin @ $2535. Whether SSBC, Baer, or Z06, great brakes don't come cheap. But then again, the confidence they instill is awe-inspiring. Piece of mind. All too often, we focus on going faster, w/ little regard to brakin. I want both.

Lemme add, I don't want a coffee can of dust every time I squeeze the binders, nor do brake pads that only work when heated up. This is a DD, not a track truck. I want everyday, world-class street stoppin power not F1 track superstar.

The truck pads work without excessive brake dust, they were developed for the extra demands of towing. The race pads dust like a MF but their first stop is still better than the stock pads.

I put these on 2 weeks ago w/ new ceramic pads, and I think from 60 mph it probably stops 25-30 feet faster. I just got them, because I needed new rotors for the rear, and thought the slotted/drilled looked cool. I didn't expect them to be much different than stock, because they are the same size.

not when you could have 6 pistons calipers and 14" rotors for close to the same price.
