Default Please Take a Look at this C-Notch job

I am looking at buying this 2002 Silverado. Looking for advice from those who have experience with notches. The notch is different than others I have seen.

Does it look safe, will I be able to tow a small trailer? Walk away?

Hard to tell from the picture, but it looks like there are bolt in notches too and the piece on top was just added for extra strength so they could tow with the truck. I don't see a problem structurally with it other than it could of been done differently without hacking up the bed.

If u can get it cheap and i mean cheap get it, shouldnt take much to redo it if its not right. Buuut check the rest of the truck 2 see if anything else is sketchy. If so then run away lol.

Is the seller calling himself CAGracing? Or is he related? You need to run away.

From what I can see of the welds (and that's not a good picture) I'd have serious concerns about the structural integrity of the reinforcement bar.

Here's something to consider. If he was willing to hack the **** out of his truck's frame, and the bed floor....... What else has been hacked to **** that you don't know about yet?

People who take good care of their vehicles make extra effort to always do quality work on maintenance, repairs, & modifications.

People who are willing to hack frames & major body panels, are generally willing to take shortcuts on maintenance & repairs. Expect more problems than you can initially see.

I'm speaking from my 23 years of experience working in the auto repair industry.
