Pinion Shims/Axle Shims- They work the same right?

Default Pinion Shims/Axle Shims- They work the same right?

Just wondering if pinion shims can be used in place of axle shims. They both serve the same purpose right?

They are different diameters, and pinion shims are generally around .030-.040 thick.
