Default pinion seal

i got a leak from my rear end and its right where the drive shaft meets the differential someone told me it was the pinion seal anyone know exactly what that might be? and how much/hard is it to fix it

funny thats what im fixin on my truck today the pinion seal pretty easy just need to pull the yoke to get in there.
