Default Pinion angle shims necessary?

I just installed a belltech 2-4 drop and i was curious as to how many ppl installed the pinion correction shims? I havent installed them yet and i was wondering if they were absolutely necessary.
Thanks,
Derek

not needed but i do recomend using them to help with your traction issues. using the shims even when being at stock height will help you out.
