PI converter self-destruction
#11
I had the same exact thing happen to my camaro....In an effort to keep it running in the mean time I flushed the transmission and added a few quarts of the john deer hyguard fluid....it stopped slipping til I was able to get a new converter and clean the transmission.
Also when you have the trans done check under neath the 3rd gear apply piston in the input drum, if it was the converter clutch then there will be ALOT of material there from it.

Not sure what cooler you have, but this is the one I run in all my builds with 4000 converters. fluid stays nice and pink..

Brad, I actually have that exact cooler sitting on a shelf in my garage, lol. I was going to get another Tru-Cool 40K, but maybe I'll just put that one to use.
As for checking under the 3rd apply piston, I'm sure Finishline will take care of that. Thanks.
