Question Party in the back

'86 Silverado with a 10 bolt and 2.73 gears. I am, hopefully soon, going to be putting in a 350 and was thinking that gears would be a good idea to take care of, if not now, then down the road a little. Any reasonable suggestions?

Well, you're probably unlikely to get reasonable suggestions around here. I let these guys talk me into 4.10's. I'm getting them in on Monday, and I can't wait.

If I had stock height tires, I'd probably go with 3.73's myself, so that's what I would recommend.

unless you have a 700r4 or 4l60e get 3.42s if you care about gas mileage 3.73s at the most (this is for a th350 or th400 tranny)

if you do have the 700r4 or 4l60e get 4.10s no doubt

oh and get an eaton posi while your in there

It all depends on your tranny, od or not, and tire height. If you do some searches on google you can find gear calculators for tire height and od gear ratios.

Well, saw the 350 yesterday and it's not what I was looking for. So 350 or not I'm still interested in the gear stuff for future reference.

I'll see if I can find a gear calculator.
