older 4l80e into 2000 truck? will it work

i was wondering if a 4wd 4l80e trans out of a 97 truck will work on my 2000 Sierra? thanks im looking to do the swap and came across a good deal. not sure if it will work though.

Yes I'm pretty sure it will, as long as it has the mounting bosses for the neutral safety switch

Yes. 1997 and up is the revised case with the rear fluid inlet.

It will work Lance however the bolt hole at the 12oclock position is not there on that 97 case. You might want to locate a 99 and later unit. Vince
