Question old nv3500 to lsx?

hey guys, just wondering if the old style nv3500 will work with an lsx? i know it wll bolt up, just wondering as far as input shaft length and such? i have a nv3500 out of a 92 half ton (actually a getrag but same differance) and i want to bolt it up to a 5.3 for a swap in my 80' short wide. anyone with some knowledge would be great. thanks guys

Thumbs up

well i finally got out in the shop tonite and tried it and ill be damned if it didnt work. I think i will have to shim the throw out bearing a little bit, but other than that i think it will fly. here's a list of my hodge podge parts list

old nv3500 out of 92 1/2 ton (actually a getrag, but same dimensionally)
ls1 flywheel
old clutch disc off a 6.2 diesel (looked good)
ls1 pressure plate
edit- new longer TOB napa# N1086-SA
the disc was about a 1/4" bigger than the ls1 disc and it hit the pressure plate where it bolts to the flywheel just a little bit, but im gunna start it and let the 5.3 do a little lathe work when i push the clutch in
it will be a while till i get it in my 80' short wide, but when its in i will let everyone know how it works.
edit- found a longer TOB that should work good. napa part# N1086-SA. same as the stocker, but about 3/8" longer

I was going to use it but it was behind a 4.3 and it was quite a bit smaller. doent know if the v8 trucks used bigger disc's or not.

I used the flywheel etc from my 4.3 5 speed 04 silvy behind a mild 350 with a nv3500 4wd trans and it worked great. only difference in those 2 clutches seems to be is more springs for less grabby engagement.
