Default ok I got my c-notch in, can i........

I have a 2004 Silverado rec cab sb lowered 4" with shackles/hangers, just installed my c-notch (DJM) can I remove my overload spring with out any fears of bottoming out. I assume I can since I added about 2.5 inches or so of new clearance. I do not haul or tow anything except for my big a$@. Does removing the overload change the ride at all, or just your hauling/towing capacity? I need about another inch of rear lowering to make it look like I want it .

Thanks in advance.

As long as you don't plan on hauling or towing anything you'll be fine, they only come into play then. I took mine out because my caltrac bars were hitting them, no adverse effects from removing them.

Not a good idea IMO. It will bounce and possibly still bottom out with the notch. More importantly it greatly increases wheel hop and axle wrap, both of which are not good. Only remove it if you have some sort of traction aid like caltracs or long bars.

The good thing is... It'll level you out perfectly and ride really nice, if you always go unloaded...

The bad thing is, you're towing and hauling will be history and wheel hop/axle wrap will be terrible without some sort of traction aid.

Your call...

I have to disagree. I had no problems with my 00 after I removed mine and even had multiple bikes(MCs) in the back after wards. with the notch there is really no possible way for you to bottom out. You would need like 2 elephants in your truck. It will lower your truck about 1"-1.5"

Well I guess everyone's truck is different, because mine rode like **** and wheel hopped like crazy and I have a friend that has his removed with notch and it bounces so bad some times that it bottoms out...
